What geographic area does the Phi Mu Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter cover?
Our alumnae chapter is the only one in the state of Wisconsin and has been active since 1954. While a majority of our members live in the greater Milwaukee area, we do have several members who reside in other regions of the state. In fact, we have two executive board members who live in Oshkosh and Madison!
How can get in touch with the group?
How much are membership dues?
If you’re interested in becoming a member of our chapter please check out our become a member page.
Can I attend an activity or event, if I haven’t paid dues?
Of course! Before you become a member of our chapter, please come to a group event or activity and get to know us. We are a vibrant bunch of ladies from all walks of life and from various areas throughout the country. If you're new to the area or want to become reconnected to sisters; we're here to welcome you and make you feel like hΦΜe!
I’m interested in getting more information about your events and activities, how do you communicate to the group?
We disperse information about group activities in many different ways. We generally promote our activities and events through our e-newsletters, within the private Facebook group, via phone and/or through the mail.
How many activities or events does the chapter have throughout the year?
We host four marquee events each year which are:
- Family-friendly potluck picnic (July/August)
- Briggs and Al’s Run and Walk for the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (September)
- Holiday brunch and ornament exchange (December)
- Founders’ Day Celebration and Lunch (March)
We also host several smaller events throughout the year. Some of our favorites have been: supporting the Milwaukee Alumnae Panhellenic scholarship fund, Phi Mu Night Out, Friends and Family Phun at an orchard, brunch, happy hour, etc. We are always looking for new event ideas or if you’re willing to host please contact us!
I’m going through formal recruitment and would like to get a reference letter; can your group help me?
Yes! A reference (also known as a letter of recommendation) is an organized way of introducing a potential new member (PNM) and providing helpful information to a collegiate chapter during the recruitment process. Please contact our chapter President to schedule a time to discuss.
